Those who have followed Shemar’s career since his soap opera days have watched him get older as time has passed, teh evolution of both him and his character on the past six seasons of Criminal Minds. He still looks amazing for his age. In a article posted by BET, he talked about his appearance and Criminal Minds. Follow the link to the source to read the whole article.
“I’m not in very good shape right now,” declared Shemar Moore, but if that’s the case, then heaven help the rest of the guys on the planet. At 41, he’s got the physique of a guy a decade or two younger. “As I get older it’s getting harder and harder, but it’s part of my image to look a certain way, so I’m holding on,” laughed Moore, whose often physically demanding role as special agent Derek Morgan in Criminal Minds helps on that score. The CBS procedural action-drama series, about an elite team of profilers who hunt down serial killers, begins its seventh season on September 21. The show’s longevity is something Moore attributes to the cast’s chemistry, smart scriptwriting and a realistic, cinematic feel. “It’s like Silence of the Lambs meets Seven,” he revealed before a fall preview party at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills on Tuesday night.
We’re all waiting for Criminal Minds to return this fall with all the changes that are happening once again on the show. JJ is back, Prentiss is coming back and Rachel Nichols is out the door (sadly, I really enjoyed her character). So how does Derek take to the news of Prentiss not being dead?
insidebayarea posted an interview they had with Shemar.
ONE WOULD think that a chiseled hunk who regularly pops up on those lists of “TV’s Sexiest Men” would have earned camera-hog status by now. But on this drizzly day in San Francisco’s Russian Hill neighborhood, Shemar Moore emerges from a black SUV on the set of “Criminal Minds” to utter just one scripted line.
Or three words, to be exact.
“How’s the mom?” he says to co-star Thomas Gibson, referring to a character at wit’s end following the abduction of her teen daughter.
Yes, just three measly words. Nice work if you can get it.
“And the Emmy goes to … ” Moore jokes as he ducks into a garage, where he hoists his T-shirt to allow a technician to remove a hidden mic, and in the process, provides a quick flash of his oft-photographed abs. Are those prolonged sighs we hear from the women in the crew?
Shemar Moore is in this Month Ability Magazine.

Actor Shemar Moore had an eight-year run as Malcolm Winters on the popular daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless, as well as a supporting role in the feature film Diary of a Mad Black Woman. Today he stars on the CBS drama Criminal Minds as FBI Special Agent Derek Morgan. When he’s not enforcing the law on the small screen, Moore bikes to raise awareness of multiple sclerosis, a disease that hits him close to home.
ABILITY Magazine’s Chet Cooper sat down with Moore for a chat in his Los Angeles home.
Chet Cooper: I understand you enjoy doing a little boxing.
Shemar Moore: Yeah. I haven’t done it lately, but I did it off and on for quite awhile. I love it. I can hit the stuffing out of the bags, because they don’t hit back, you know? It was just a cool way to handle cardio. But now I’ve gotten more into cycling, because I ride for my mother, who has MS. So I’ve done a hundred-mile fundraising bike ride with a bunch of guys I work with at Criminal Minds.
Cooper: So you stay pretty active, then.
Moore: Sure. The only sport I’m not all that good at, which shouldn’t admit, is basketball. I guess I’ve got white man’s disease because I’m half white.
Cooper: You can’t jump?
Moore: Oh, I can jump, I just don’t have much of a left hand. I can play a mean game of horse, though. But no, I’ve done every kind of sport. I love that stuff. Before Hollywood, I thought I was going to be a baseball player.
Then I got into cycling, just because I was doing mountain bike stuff, and I met some guys at the show and they told me I had a sissy bike. So now I’ve got a new bike and the whole kit. You’ve got to look fancy, right? As long as you’re connected to your bike, you look really cool, but if you’re not connected to your bike, you just look like a man in tights, which is not very cool.
Cooper: I was just in Ireland, where Lance Armstrong was doing the Tour de Ireland.
Moore: Oh yeah? I guess the guys I work with are like a level below Lance Armstrong. They do semi-pro racing and all that. Me, I’ve just got the fancy tights, I’ve got the fancy all-carbon-fiber bike. I look the part, but I’m just an actor riding a bike. So I act like I can ride.
Thanks to the wonderful Jennifer for sending me the Scan from Shemar in TV Guide Magazine back in 2007. Enjoy!
TVGuide has a little Scoop on Criminal Minds.
Now that Criminal Minds has wrapped up the Reaper storyline, can we please get more of the characters besides Hotch? — Cecille
ADAM: Ask and you shall receive. Executive producer Ed Bernero promises much more of Dr. Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler, who has been sidelined because of a real-life injury) in the back half of the season. “There were some things we had planned for him that we had to just back off of. The guy is there every day for work, he just can’t walk.” Fine, so maybe we can expect some shirtless Morgan (Shemar Moore) in the meantime? “Anytime we can get Shemar’s shirt off, it’s a boon for us,” Bernero says.
Thanks to Korbi from Zap2it for posting this.
“Criminal Minds” turns 100 this week and, well, there’s a lot going on. Someone’s getting off’ed. Actually, I’m hearing two someones.
It will be very emotional, definitely tissue-worthy and as creator Ed Bernero — who also directed the landmark episode — tells me, there will be a pay off for loyal fans who’ve watched the show since day one.
Thanks to the wonderful Cindy for sending me the scans. TV Guide Magazine has an article about the 100th episode of Criminal Minds.
Eurweb has a little article about Shemar’s replacement on The Young and The Restless and why he couldnt return to the show.
So much for Shemar Moore ever reprising his role of Malcolm Winters on “The Young and the Restless.” Beginning next month, the character will be played by former “Family Matters” star Darius McCrary, according to EW.com.
Moore left the soap in 2005 to co-star in CBS’ “Criminal Minds.” According to EW, “it seems obvious that Moore’s busy schedule (‘Minds’ is about to air its 100th episode) — combined with the fact that Bell wanted the Malcolm character back full-time – made it impossible for Moore to return (one insider even said that Moore has been approached before about coming back to the show but it was clear that it wouldn’t work out because of his commitment to ‘Minds’).”
